Sugar Free Week!

Just made it through a week of sugar free eating.  Also cut out the breads.  I had done really good for a couple of years with sticking to a low sugar and very low bread intake but have relaxed on that in the last 18 to 20 months or so.  I love bread, my body doesn't.  I've also reached that age when suddenly the metabolism stops.  Anyway, decided I needed to curb the sugar and the bread.  It really isn't too difficult to do.  I guess I should specify that by sugar I mean no added sugar.  I'll drink a bit of apple juice with no added sugars, whatever natural sugars are in an item is kosher.  I'm just not adding sugar.  A friend once told me that what you eat in your 40's determines how you live in your 50's.  I want to live well in my 50's and beyond so I've got to be disciplined.  I have a sweet tooth and love the candies and desserts.  I also tend to have an all or nothing mentality when it comes to sweets in that once I have a little something I'm like, the day is blown so I might as well just go for it.  That isn't a good thing.  So cold turkey, cut it out, don't eat it.  That works for me.  After school started my longer workouts went away and I was doing some quick hits.  I've got to get my workouts going a bit longer.  I've been able to do that a few times since school got out but need to get a daily thing going again.  5 years ago it was easy to have the pounds melt away.  Not quite as easy today but we'll keep on it.
