The Fast Leg

Last week was an incredibly painful one for me.  Physically painful.  I've had other painful weeks that were not physically hard but emotionally draining.   Anyhow, last week was extremely tough.  The background is that I tore up my left leg playing softball a week and a half ago.  That Sunday my leg was enormous and serious infection had set in.  On Monday I visited the local quick care and was given antibiotics.  The next day the swelling began to go down and by Friday the swelling appeared to be gone.  There was an incredible amount of pain in my leg that did not go away.  It was a deep pain that felt like it was in the bone.  I do my very best to endure a little pain, this was a lot of pain.  I decided to fast on Sunday for the healing of my leg.  Throughout Sunday the pain was extreme and then that night a certain little boy decided it would be a good idea to kick me in the leg on the wound.  The pain was severe.  I managed to remain calm and that little boy continued to live.  Oh my that hurt.  There was no sign of pain relief.  On Monday the pain was gone.  Wow, what a blessing.  I was quite fearful the infection had spread throughout my leg.  Well,  thankfully we caught it and took care of it.  My leg was pain free for the most part.  I am quite grateful for the blessing of pain relief that came for the leg of the fast.
