Awful Burden

There are some things that we experience in life that simply are not that fun.  Sometimes things are said and we find ourselves standing alone and feeling that all eyes are on us.  I think that there are moments in our lives when we are harshest in critiquing ourselves.  I remember something Bishop Van taught me years ago, he said: Be gentle with yourselves, Christ has borne the awful burden. I wrote that down in my scriptures and every now and again I come across it and I think about Bishop Van, I think about the Savior and my heart fills with gratitude.  He loves us for who we are.  There are not titles with him that we need worry about.  I am grateful for that love and know that he is aware of me.
