It's the Fat that Makes the Peanut Butter!

Yes, you read the title right - it is the fat that makes the peanut butter.  I say this with all certainty.  Why would I say such a thing when clearly it is the peanut that makes the peanut butter?  Well, I am glad you asked.  You see, I don't do a lot of product reviews but today I feel duty bound to shout with all conviction that PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter is the worst peanut butter I have ever tasted in 40 years of consuming peanut butter.

I saw this powdered peanut butter on the shelf at the local grocery store and I thought it looked fantastic.  The stuff has 85% less fat because they filter it out and then bottle up this powder that gets mixed with water.  I had to have it.  As a peanut butter fan I tried it first on Sunday and  then again just moments ago.  It is painfully disgusting.  I couldn't muscle through it, just nasty.

As far as the best peanut butter on the market today - Adams All Natural Crunchy Peanut butter.  Hands down the best stuff ever.

  1. My wonderful wife, Laura, has had to put up with smooth peanut butter since she was basically 8 years old because not many other people like crunchy peanut butter. I was at the store and remembered your post about this specific brand of crunchy peanut butter. I thought to myself, "That would be a real nice thing to do for Laura." So I bought the hands down best stuff ever peanut butter you recommended. Lets just say I am no longer allowed to trust your taste in eggnog or peanut butter anymore. You nailed it with the nutella thing, and your sandwiches are generally well thought out and creative. But I am sorry to say I should have just gone with the Jif crunchy peanut butter.

    1. NOOOOOOOO! Trust me. It is the best. Did you stir it well and put it in the fridge? Look at those ingredients - Peanuts! You can't beat that. No added sugar or oil, just peanuts. For an extra special treat, take a spoonful and squeeze a little pure honey on it. So dang good. Oh, and the eggnog - I said the organic was nasty. Are you telling me you disagree? Let me add to that list. The Kroger brand eggnog, ahhh no good and I should have known that by how cheap it was, you know $2.99 for a half gallon, cheap! Don't give up on that Adams. It is so good cold out of the fridge.
