This afternoon I went in to South Elementary School and met with Mrs. Coonan, Mrs. Harris, Mrs. Sherratt and Mr. Oldroyd to discuss Jack and his Individual Education Plan or IEP. Jack is really doing well. He is managing himself so well and knows what to do to calm himself down. Everyone was quite happy with his progress. His end of level test scores came back great. He still has things to work on but to compare and contrast first grade to 4th grade, you would be completely amazed at how far he has come. He really is doing well - oh he still has some academic challenges but his social and behavioral skills have improved dramatically. It was a fantastic Jack report. They all love him and Mrs. Coonan said a couple of times that she is dreading the end of his 5th grade year when he steps out of the school for the last time. I am dreading that some myself as the middle school will present a lot more challenges for him at that age group. We will enjoy the time we have remaining at South.
