This has been a cold week and the cold has not helped my motivation in two areas. 1, my late night, post blog workouts (the elliptical is in the garage) and 2, finishing the furniture that I have been working on. I have several peices painted and roughed up and had to get them shellacked. Today the sun was shining so I pulled everything out into the driveway and went to work. It was cold, well somewhere under 30 anyway. That isn't the coldest but it was cold enough not to want to be out working in it. Today was nice though as we did not have wind and with the multiple layers of clothing I was able to stay warm enough. The frigid face is no big deal. I love it when my face gets so cold that I have a hard time talking. Anyhow, I got the peices done and I have to say I like them. I think they turned out pretty well. I encountered a few challenges along the way and it costs me some time but overall I am happy with it. I have some reassembly to do tomorrow on a couple of the peices and then we will take them over to the Little Brick House.
I still have two shelves to paint red and will get them rolling tomorrow as well as a funny little table that I am going to paint green, two more of my hanging shelves, a frame and an entertainment center in my garage. There are some other peices in the folks garage and a couple more items at the LBH that need to come over. Mom gave me a stool yesterday that needs refinishing and she wants me to use it as a pattern for additional stools. So there is some work to do there.
Jack really wants me to build him a boat. He is already thinking about the summer time and playing in the water and Canyon Park. That was one of his favorite things last summer. He also enjoyed launching his boat down the gutter over at the school. Hopefully there will be plenty of opportunities for him to launch boats and play by the water in Alaska this summer. We will have to get some water time in before they head up there for a couple months. I have to say that I am not exactly looking forward to them going up there but it is what was agreed so they will go. It is extremely difficult for me to picture my life with out them here. Fortunately we have 5 months before summer so we will enjoy them to the fullest and I will try not to think about the day I will have to drop them off.
Poor Andy has been sick the last 3 days. He is not deathly ill but has had a nasty cough and sore throat. Jack has milked a mild sore throat for the last two days but he will be back at school tomorrow. Andy has no appetite and is even passing up on a special treat of a Kit Kat. He is drinking a lot of chocolate milk and will pick at some things. He had French Toast for breakfast and then nibbled on a few things throughout the day. Nothing significant though. Hopefully he is doing much better tomorrow. Never fun.
In an effort to recapture some cold workout motivation (I ran 6 miles two nights ago)I am putting in a special movie tonight. Yes, yes, it is a chick flick or so I am told. P.S. I Love You. I have no idea what it is about but it is one of Amy's top 10 movies. She tells me that she cries through most of it. Sweet, I am going to test my manhood on the elliptical and hopefully I pull through without a problem. I know, what the heck am I doing working out to a chick flick? Well, I haven't seen it and that should keep me moving pretty well. I don't have a large selection of movies that I haven't yet seen and enjoy new material. We will see how it goes.
Well, not much else to report on the day. Sure do love my kids and am grateful for all they do. Sweet Natty Sue, Jackson Boy and AndyboyTano are wonderful.
