Mission Jars

I collected three large pickle jars from The Little Brick House a while back.  It was during a week that pickles was missed from the food order and we had to pick up some from the Walmart.  Anyhow, Sara had given me some neat stickers that say I Hope They Call Me On a Mission.  The idea behind them is to put the sticker on a jar and start saving for a mission.  I know, this is pretty exciting stuff here.  Anyhow, we labelled the jars and then we put their names on them along with the date.  I gave them each a couple of dollars to get started.  I think they were all excited about it.  After our missionary jar project we read scriptures about the missionary efforts of Ammon and his brethren.  We just happened to be reading at the part where Ammon defends the kings flocks.  The kids loved it.
