Is it inappropriate to have a seven year old boy sneak up on people and slide his hand right up into their arm pit for a little tickle action? That seems to be the new signature move for Jack. Last night he met Melissa at the Little Brick House. She jumped and let out a little scream that sent Jack into hysterics when he applied his signature tickle pit maneuver on her. She is a little loud and giggly anyway so her reaction was not that big of a shocker.
Tonight we were walking up the paved canyon trail out of Canyon Park. We ran into the pottery lady that has space at the LBH. Her and her husband were walking down while we were walking up. First Jack snuck in a little tickle pit on her husband and then snuck in one on her as well. I think perhaps we will have to have a small chat about the old tickle pit thing though they both laughed and gave him a little hug. He thought he was so funny. I am just glad that people react well. I don't think that I was anywhere near Jack's level of comfortability with adults when I was his age. Heck, I don't think I am anywhere near his current level of comfortability at my ripe old age of 38.
Jack has his own little way with people. I am sure there are those that he must just irritate and that is part of life. Actually, I would say there are not too many that he rubs the wrong way. He is a loving boy and I think people are drawn to him. On Sunday there was a rather old Sister that bore her testimony. She was 90. After the meeting was over Jack was right there with her trying to help her stand up. Glad he didn't go for a tickle pit there. It may have been too much and would have taken this lady over the edge. Fortunately there was no episode and I just go to watch Jack. At Wal-Mart last night Jack gave an LBH customer a little hug while I was talking with her. She thought it was great.
So anyway, tickle pits, it's an ice breaker. If you need a little training on how it works. I have an expert right here in Cedar City.
I have been tickle pitted several times since Jack has been home.
