The Priesthood Responds

Sitting here thinking about what I should title my post and I am beginning to knod off.  I better just start typing and hope something comes to me.  I am simply wiped out.  I actually just knodded off for 10  minutes or so.  Maybe that will be just the power nap I need to see this through.

I really don't know what to write about tonight... Sandy?  She's a hurricane that hit the East coast yesterday.  A lot of damage out there.  I think back to cleaning up Katrina and know that there are a lot of people whose lives will be changed forever.

Here is what I know.  Within the Church there are Stake Presidents, Bishops, Quorum Presidents, Home Teachers and no doubt Relief Socity Sisters who are already assessing damage, preparing for relief, and awaiting the call to go.  The efforts will be well organized and the good that will be done is immeasurable.  I am grateful for that.  I am grateful for the time I lived in Florida and witnessed how the Church operates in these types of situations.  I am grateful to have stood shoulder to shoulder with the Lord's army of Mormon Helping Hands.  We were just men out doing what we had been asked to do.

And so it will happen again with assignments coming and brethren going.  I love the organization of the gospel and know aht when the Lord calls the priesthood responds.
