Adjusting to Pain

Last week I went to see a chiropractor.  It had been quite some time since I last saw him and my body was hurting.  He did some adjusting and I was actually feeling pretty good.  I was even getting up in the morning fairly easy without having to warm up my body before the pain would ease.  Today I made a return trip thinking I would continue to make some improvements.  Let me make it clear that I am not a regular when it comes to chiropractic care.  Like I said it had been quite some time since I last visited the chiropractor and that previous visit was the first time I had seen a chiropractor.  It was the last of a series of visits, 4 or 5 maybe, over the course of a month.  What I am trying to say is that I am not an expert.  I don't write this with a lot of experience or expertise in the matter.  Okay, so today I made the return trip.  I was having pain in my leg prior to last weeks visit and even some after that visit.  Today the doctor made an adjustment on my left hip I guess that was fairly intense.  I am sitting here with quite a bit of pain in my left hip area.  I don't have any clue if this is normal, if I am supposed to feel severe discomfort for a time after being adjusted.  It is not comfortable by any means.  I had some headache pain after last weeks visit that I attributed to the adjustment but it was no big deal and went away.  This pain is a bit more intense than that.  I will sleep on it and hopefully it will begin to feel better.  It is just a bit brutal that I went in feeling a lot better in the area in question and came out feeling worse than what I was experiencing to begin with.  The next scheduled appointment is Monday.  If I am feeling better by then I might ask for a little less adjusting.  Maybe some experts out there can let me know if this is normal.  It is fantastic!
