This morning I got up and went with Borden Jenkins to load a piano up and take it over to a rummage sale that was happening at the Brick House. A friend contacted me and asked if they could use the parking lot for a sale today to raise money to help cover some medical expenses for her sister. I said sure. So then the other night when I was helping to lift this piano out of a basement we were asked if we knew anybody that wanted a piano. Nobody knew of anybody so I mentioned the upcoming rummage sale and basically they said take it. That is the history of the piano. We unloaded it at the sale and withing 10 minutes it had sold. It sold to one of my employees, Madi, who happens to be a music major. She is very excited about the piano. I don't know how excited her boyfriend was when he came to move it. Then he got to come back to move it again with a bigger truck. It took 5 grown men to get that thing out of the basement and it took 5 of us to get it in the back of this truck. Anyway, it was for a good cause and so we were happy to help.
I also took over several things that I have had taking up space here for over a year. The entertainment center that we bought 10 years ago to go around a big screen TV. Yep, the old style big screen that was anything but a skinny thing you mount on the wall. I also took over Natty's old bed and a computer hutch. The entertainment center and the hutch didn't end up selling but I did unload them. Everything that didn't sell was being donated to DI. I was happy to unload them. The bed did sell almost as fast as the piano. Good stuff. Good cause. Happy to help.
