Lemonade
When life gives you lemons... of course, make lemonade. Tonight I was on my way back to the Brick House to drop off a few things I had to pick up at the store. I was expecting everyone to be gone. I got a call from Christa, one of my shift leaders and she told me that someone had called in right before we closed and ordered 12 Thunderbird sandwiches. It was an hour later and they had never come in and picked them up. I've decided we need to take payment over the phone for call in orders at that time of night. That was $120 order that just didn't pitch. That is not cool. I don't care who the restaurant is, that kind of waste hurts. We're just a small outfit and now we just lost money on the food and the extra time it caused my staff to be there to prep and take care of the order. I didn't want to throw it all away so I loaded it up and drove around to local hotels and gave a free meal to the desk clerks on duty. They were all excited to get it and so that made it all worth it. Jack looked up at me when we were done with a smile on his face and said "Dad, I think we just did a good thing". Lemonade, such a delicious beverage.
