Pinky - Help guy in wheelchair.
Ring - Tuck Andy in bed.
Pointer - Help dad snow shovel.
Index - Help someone get out of snow if stuck in SUV.
Thumb - Help a kid up the stairs with a wheelchair.
Wow. I have to say I believe he came up with this list all by himself.
Wheelchairs. Jack loves wheelchairs. He has no problem going up and talking to people in wheelchairs. There was an older brother in the Lakeland Ward that was in a wheelchair and Jack loved to go and talk with him all about it. He had a foot amputated a few months prior and Jack just asked him all about it, multiple times. I am not sure how much the brother appreciated that but he was always kind to Jack.
During soccer this year there was a player on one of the opposing teams who had a sister that was in a wheelchair. Jack didn't like soccer all that much. He loved the flowers, he loved playing by the river, he loved every dog he could find at the fields, he loved to bum treats off the oposing team along with his teams treats and on the day we played this team Jack loved hanging out with this little girl. He just held her hand and talked with her. She couldn't speak but she could squeeze a hand and she liked holding Jacks hand. Here are a couple of pictures from that game. I wish could remember her name.

Nothing can compare with a hover-round power wheel chair. Most of us will recognize them a them as the Jazzy or other similar models. Jack loves the hover round. Anyway, not too surprised that two of his fingers were dedicated to helping people in wheelchairs.
Tuck Andy in Bed - This one is a little odd for me. I cant picture a time when Jack has tried to tuck Andy in bed. They have been having fun together in their room with the blocks the last couple of days and that has been nice. With Jack he has not been the greatest playmate so the two boys playing well together and helping me clean their room together has been really nice. So who knows, perhaps we are working up to tucking Andy in bed.
Help dad snow shovel. I am not surprised at the snow shoveling. He was out shoveling snow with me prior to church. He loves it. There is one thing about this one that throws me just a skosh; Jack rarely if ever calls me dad, He calls me John a majority of the time. Not sure how I would feel if he stopped calling me John.
SUV - Help Someone Get Out of Snow if stuck in SUV. Jack loves the SUV. In his mind it can do all things. His list wouldn't be right without it. Unfortunately our SUV is only 2 wheel drive and I think anyone stuck in the snow is going to remain stuck if it is our truck trying to pull them out. We will let Jack keep on believing in the ol SUV though. I mean, it is legendary after all.
Thanks Jack for your Helping Hands. Thank you for being a good boy and a good helper. We have had a great time today just being silly. I did manage to tickle the piddle right out of him at one point. Uncle Bubba had a similar experience last week - tickling the piddle out of Jack not being tickled and wetting himself. Natty and Jack have been a kick today and all it took was some silly walking thing I started doing.
Thanks also to Natty Sue and AndyboyTano for their helping hands. I am grateful for my good helpers.
pretty sure it was me who tickled the urine out of him. in fact he said very angrily "you made the pee shoot right out of me!"
ReplyDeleteI am "tickled" with the wheel chair story... had to cross my legs while I read it though! You do have great helping hands at our house John, and you are a great helping hand to me. I think I have confidence that if I am ever in need of using a wheelchair Jack will take care of me!
ReplyDeleteOne more thing about Jack. I find it interesting that although I never knew my Uncle Jack who was my Dad's brother and he died before I was two I knew about him and I remember how much my Dad loved him. He was crippled and he never married. I know that sweet things were always said about him and so I have loved him all these years without actually knowing him. Anyway, when we talk about Jackson as Jack or Jackie I always have this little transfer of extra love for a little boy who would love a man like my cripple uncle and be named with his name as well.
Right Dave. Sorry about that error. Jim is the not so plump uncle buck and whack a mole.
ReplyDeleteThe beauty of the blog is that I can go back and edit. It reads correctly now giving credit to Uncle Bubba for the tickle piddle.
