Jack's Train Testimony

I was busy drawing Andy his weekly "monster truck" during Sacrament Meeting at church today when suddenly I recognized the voice of the next testomony bearer.  It was Jack.  Suddenly I was a little nervous and wasn't quite sure where we would be going with this one.  Anyway, he shared the following:
I would like to tell you all about trains.  They are really cool.  There are three trains on my paper.  First is the Canadium (the Canadian).  The next one is the Trolley.  Don’t you know on the back is the last one, it’s the Subway train.
Now I will tell you all about these trains.
The Canadium is very strong and it pulls a long train.
The Trolley is really cool.
The Subway train has automatic doors that open  - viiissshhh - and close –viiissshhh.
In the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN.

I wrote that down after he finished.  It isn’t exact but it is pretty close.  Also hard to capture the facial expressions, the varying tones of voice, the pauses for effect and the enormity of his AMEN.  He was extremely comfortable up there speaking and really did a great job.  We will work on tying trains in to the gospel and a testimony of the Savior.  We are also working on a more reverent amen.  He is a good boy and sure lights up the place.
I was visiting with my friend Bob and his wife and told them that Jack was my son.  They loved his testimony.  Bob said he is like the Dieter F. Uchdorf of trains.   His wife mentioned that they were sitting in the overflow in the Relief Society room and she had to get up to see who this kid was that was sharing his testimony.  We shared a good laugh together.
As Jack came down Andy was very excited to go up and said “I’m gonna go talk about Monster Trucks”.  I hate to say this but I stopped him from going up and discussed with him briefly that are testimonies should be about Jesus and not about Monster Trucks.  We will work again on this subject in our Family Home Evening.
I think that I failed to mention yesterday that Jim and Clo and the kids are up, Laura and Nigel and the kids are down and we have enjoyed being able to visit with family this weekend.  It is a treat for the kids who just love their cousins.  Jim is looking a lot better “since the crash”.  He has some limited motion in his arm and so that is a source for some teasing.  He plays along pretty well.  Anyhow, it is nice to have family here and to enjoy the time together.  We sure miss those who couldn’t be here.  Know you are loved.   Also note that if you want to make plans for getting to town sometime in the Future, Jack can certainly provide you with any details you might need when planning a long distance trail journey.    If so, watch out.
