Lots to Learn

Some days I have this crazy realization that I don't know a thing about the restaraunt business.  I really don't.  It is a bit challenging trying to figure out what to do when you don't have any sort of model to base decisions on.  I do know that I need to know the numbers and then we have to manage by those numbers.  On the positive, we have had a good start in many respects.  People that try our food love it and come back.  That is fantastic.  People love the atmosphere and enjoy the shop quite a bit.  It is all very positive.  We are still working on getting the word out that we are here.  Everyday I talk to customers who didn't know we were here and heard from a friend, heard us on the radio, saw us at the SUU game or found us in the paper and decided to come in.  We have a lot of word of mouth going on and customers bringing in their friends.  That is excellent stuff.  We are happy with the progress, I am happy with the progress but I know that I have a long way to go and a lot of things that I need to see.  I guess I am like those customers that don't know that we are here.  Right now I don't know what to even look at in many respects.  Each day holds a new lesson and the opportunity to progress.  I just have to make sure that I don't stop moving forward.

I've been talking about The Little Brick House but the reality is that life is very much the same.  It is very important for us to constatly press forward.  If we think we know it all we should remember that repetition is a principle of learning.  Well, I guess that is all I have to say about that right now.
