Took a trip to Vegas this afternoon. I am fairly certain that I have mentioned previously the date that I had for tonight. Anyhow that is what took me there. I just returned home at 3 AM. That makes for a pretty long day. The date was great. Actually, I probably should have done a much better job then I did. I had a plan in place that included dinner and then a walk. I had scoped out some walking trails in the area where my lovely date lives and I am sure they would have been spectacular but we sat and talked at dinner for a while. The sun had gone down and it was a wee bit chilly so I suggested that maybe we didn't want to walk and she wasn't opposed either way but suggested that we could also just go back to her house. I thought that sounded good.
We ended up talking and hanging out a while longer and I have to say that she has some of the best stories. Oh my goodness. I was laughing and what is great about it is that she finds joy in the experiences as well. I really like that she could laugh at herself and was comfortable enough to share embarrassing moments with me. It was a lot of fun. I left her place at 11 Vegas time and headed home. That was midnight my time and normally I would have a pretty sleepy drive but I stayed wide awake the entire drive thinking about her, recounting her stories and laughing again. I then thought about a few things that I most certainly screwed up on in the date. I shouldn't worry too much about it if I remember Mike's advice on dating anyway: "Two steps forward, one step back. Two steps forward, one step back". Thanks Mike, I will do my best not to be too nice - right???
I have to say that my lips are burnin. Wow! My date is a hot woman too be sure and I know that this will come as a great disappointment to some but my burnin lips have nothing to do with tonight's date and everything to do with my Franks Red Hot flavored sunflower seeds. Mmmm, delicious. That'll keep you awake on the road. Sorry to tease you with the title mother. I thought it could work as I was driving home with fire on my lips.
And because I was being a smart A - I just had a colossal dozing off head bob right here at the computer and banged my forehead into the table top. That might leave a mark. And now that I am once again awake I say thanks to mom for watching the kids who I am sure are having a great slumber party at grandma's house. I say thanks to Karry for a great date and for the laughs. Loved the stories. We need to have a complete do-over in our soft serve ice cream cone building contest and I need to redeem myself for the non follow through with the date plan - though I personally didn't mind the amended schedule.
