At 4:50 AM I heard a commotion coming from Jack's room and got out of bed to see what was going on. Before I even got out of my room I knew what it was and was actually quite relieved. The noise I heard was Jack on the move in quick order. He had climbed out of bed and raced to the bathroom where he threw up in the toilet. His aim wasn't perfect and he launched a little on the wall but I am good with that, it is an easy clean up. 30 minutes later I had him laying down with a bowl, the bathroom clean and I was climbing back in to bed. I couldn't immediately fall asleep as I was listening intently so I could be there immediately in case of additional problems. Poor kid. Not sure what the deal is with all of the throw up lately. I am really hoping it is an isolated incident. We shall see.
Well, I couldn't really send him to school so Jack spent the day with me. He sat in the truck a lot with his bowl, he helped me fix a few electrical outlets at the Brick House, he had a great time visiting with Jason and his helper at the Brick House and he fell asleep down in the offices of the LBH. We had come prepared for that with Mr. Fluffaluffagus, a towel, a pillow and a bowl. He ate some ice cream tonight and I am hoping it does the trick.
At one point when we were driving around the Dire Straits classic Money for Nothin came on the radio. We cranked it up. I told Jack it was one of my favorite songs and how when I was young we would drive around listening to it and Grandpa would crank up the volume pretty loud. He really liked the song and has sung a couple parts of it since then. It is one of my all time favs. I decided to show him a few other Grandpa tricks like "look over there" Grandpa had planted the seed for the discussion earlier in the day so it was good timing on our parts. Jack wasn't going to let me get away with being the only one to use this sweet trick. He pulled it on me a time or two. We had a good laugh about it.
I have been completely dead the last few days. It is pretty sad. I really want to run tonight as I didn't run last night. So I am going to wrap this up. I definitely want my MTV and my chics for free.
Jack who is laying on the couch right now just said "Dad, I wish you were nicer. Can I have a piece of bread?" Love that, he knows just how to set me up for action. I must prove that I am nicer. What a kook.
