Signs

I am not going to get into a big discussion here on the signs of the times. No, my title here is in reference to the movie Signs with Mel Gibson and Jaquin Phoenix. Swing away Merril, swing away.

Jack was camping out in the living room last night. In so doing he put down every pillow from the couch plus his two pillows from his bed. He had Mr. Fluffy (his blanket)over him and then I had to lay down two additional blankets to cover all the floor space along the row of pillows. These were for some of his imaginary camping buddies. Somethings I just roll with when it comes to the kids and this was one of them. We'll just say Jack was covered last night.

I was having a rough night. I think I mentioned that in my post from yesterday. I was feeling something not so pleasant last night. Regardless, I went to bed and then began dreaming about puking. Isn't that pleasant. I had Andy in bed with me and had a bowl for his use. At some point he hit that bowl and it flew off the bed and crashed into the dresser. It sounded like a big gong in my room. Awesome. I fell back to sleep without much of a problem. Then I heard Jack cough and could here him heading my way, fast. He said he threw up. Of course he did. Well, I got him in the bathroom and wow, he still had a ton in him. Fortunately it all went into the toilet. A few minutes later I had him in the shower. It was 4 AM. I went out and checked on just how bad it was. You remember the blankets? Well, every one of them had puke spray on it. Mr. Fluffy was completely covered while the other two had their fair share. Sweet.

As I gathered everything up I thought about the movie Signs. I had to chuckle. I put down the 3 blankets thinking well, sweet, just three things for me to fold up later. I had no idea they were going to protect the carpet. Puke away Jackyboy, Puke away. Oh'well, I thought it was pretty funny. Perhaps it helped to keep me calm at 4 AM. I was also not feeling well and that simple thought gave me a little boost.

Today I didn't manage a repeat of Hootenanny's nor did I start any other traditions that included making my own nutella. No, traditions were on hold. I was down and not well. Jack was much more energetic this morning and actually did well most of the day. He asked for a blessing and I was humbled by his faith. Grandpa came by to drop off dinner so i invited him to participate. For me it was awesome to have Jack tell me he wanted a priesthood blessing. Grateful for his faith.
