Learning

I find out on a regular basis just how much I don't know, how much I lack, how weak I am, how dependent on the Lord I am.  I am grateful for the leasons we learn in life.  They are not always the easiest lessons to work through.  Sometimes they are embarrassing.  Sometimes it takes a little bit of courage to recognize the wrong, stop, and make it right. 

When the scriptures say that this life is a time to prepare to meet God it provides some level of comfort in knowing that we are here to prepare, we are not here because we are perfect and prepared allready.  Likewise it is comforting to find in the scriptures that we learn line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little.  We are here to gain experience and to learn and we do so through our own choices, our own agency our own efforts.  As we make those choices under the direction of the Holy Ghost we will draw nearer to our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ.  What a marvelous thing this is. 

I am grateful for a patient and loving Heavenly Father who knows my needs and makes burdens to be light.  I am grateful for the strength that comes faith in the Savior.  I am grateful for living prophets and for the scriptures.  I am grateful for my sweet children and the joy they bring into my life.
