The Sun, Gravity and The Plan of Salvation

Today was a good day. I was completely exhausted as I got home after 3 and didn't get to bed until 4 or a few minutes thereafter.  I was up 4 and a half hours later and then had Jack in and out of the room, in and out of the bed, on me and then off of me - there was no hope for a few more minutes of rest.  I did have a meeting to go to at 10 and so getting moving was what needed to happen anyway.

Presidency meeting was fantastic today.  President Fawson, Brother Rowley - our High Counselor, and myself were in attendance.  Todd Allen and his wife had a baby two days ago and he asked to be excused.  Evan Applegates wife had a baby a couple weeks ago and he was also out today.  We enjoyed some interesting conversation and what was going to be a short meeting ended up going for a while.  It wasn't casual conversation, it was uplifting and moving.  Personally I was lifted, I was strengthened, I was enlightened and I am grateful for it.  My resolve to live the basics of the gospel each day was strengthened.  Perhaps I am too simple of an individual and I probably need to increase in my learning and understanding.  In anycase I find strength in the basics.

Tonight we were discussing Thanksgiving and things we were grateful for.  Andy lead us off followed by Jack and then Natty.

Said Andy: 'I'm thankful for the sun'

Jack declared: 'I am thankful for gravity'

And Natty: 'I am thankful for the plan of salvation'

We had some fun discussion with these.  I thought the answers were great and somewhat random.  Not at all what I expected to hear from them.
