Some of us are old enough to remember when Cal Ripkin Jr's streak of consecutive baseball games played came to a close or more recently Brett Favre or Peyton Manning. I am not an extreme streaker - poorly said, that probably scares a few. Trying to say I am not that in to following streaks. Like games with a hit or a touchdown pass, you know, whatever. There was a streak that I was rather happy with this year. A few of them in fact. Up until last Friday Natty had not missed a day of school this year. That ended Friday morning. No worries, I still had Jack and Andy who had yet to miss a day. Another blow to my non extreme streaking came this morning when Andy woke up with a nasty cough. He was solid when it came to fever and everything else but that cough was terrible. His streak came to a close. I had him dressed and ready to go then during our morning prayer he was hacking a bit and there was no way I could let him go. When I told him he couldn't go to school today he cried. He loves to go to school. So 2 of my 3 have fallen. Jack is now the great hope for a perfect year of attendance. So Jack, we will be pulling for you. You are our ironman of school attendance. Keep it up me boy. To Andy, we are saddened by your streak coming to an end. I know it was a difficult thing for you. Natty, likewise. Let's regroup and give it our best once again. Ready. Goooo Team!
