I was listening to General Conference this morning and started with President Uchtdorf in the Saturday Morning session. He shared some thoughts about life and living with gratitude and happiness today so that when we come to the end of our mortal probation we do not look back and find that we are filled with regrets for the choices that we have made. That is a really rough summary. Anyhow, it is easy to get caught up in the things of the day. It is easy to find yourself without patience. It can be easy to find ourselves consumed by the things that matter least instead of spending our time on the things that matter most. The title of the talk is Of Regrets and Resolutions. Well, it is an excellent talk. I highly recommend it. . I am fighting to stay awake and not really winning so I am going to close now.
It is now Friday morning and I thought I would add just a couple more things. Life can be quite challenging and sometimes it feels like we are taking a pretty good beating. As I pondered on this talk from President Uchtdorf it brought to mind a few other talks of recent years. Elder Wirthlin shared Come What May and Love It. President Monson invited us to Find Joy in the Journey. We have a choice in life, everyday. We can choose to focus on the hard things and we can find ourselves feeling whipped or we can look at all that is good. We can count the blessings that we receive each day and we can find Joy in the Journey. Some days I find myself feeling pretty whipped and it can be really hard to love the things that come, it can be hard to find joy but it is there to be found. I know that it is. When I choose to look at the blessings that I enjoy, when I focus on the good in life, when I choose to love and recognize my Saviors love for me, I can have joy and my life is filled with happiness today.
I think this is enough for now except to say that I know God lives and loves each of us. I know that the Savior lives and that through him we can overcome all things. I am so very grateful for that, for Him.
