Working Memories

I'm pretty sure I have written before about how I used to love to go to work with my dad when I was a kid.  Those memories started at AJ Copy Shop and continued through travel agencies in Salt Lake and Honolulu, even some real estate in Carson City.   Wait, even before then I can remember eating sugar cubes and going up in a sky lift I believe in Reno.  Those were always fun times.  I would hang out, find things to do, ride the escalators in the Tri-Ad building or go swimming in the pool on the roof of whatever the hotel was in Honolulu where his office was.

In Florida I took Natty and Jack to the office once or twice, after hours usually though they stopped in a time or two with their mom during the day.  I took them on the fork lift for a little ride and showed them how it worked.  Lately though our trips to work have been all The Little Brick House.  Tonight we were there again.  I had some pasta to cook and prepare for a catering job tomorrow and also needed to make some pies.  The kids came loaded with books, homework and Angry Birds on my cell phone.  Instead of remembering sugar cubes perhaps they will remember the great soda fountain with Root Beer and Sierra Mist.  Whatever the case I hope that these memories are fond ones and that they will look back on them at some future day and feel the same kind of joy I do when I think about those working memories with dad.
