4 AM
Remember 8 years ago when Hillary Clinton was running those ads about the phone ringing at 3 AM at the White House and who you want to take that call? I sure do. I didn't want her taking the calls then and I still don't want her taking the calls now and I sure as heck don't want to be taking those calls myself. Enter Jack. So it was actually an hour later than the Clinton commercial when Jack rolled into my room. Technically he walked into the room. He was wide awake. He decided he wanted to come and lay down in my room instead of his. It wasn't but a few minutes later, you know, right when your drifting off to sleep again, and he pipes up that he wants to go and play a game on the computer. I said no and I also said he needed to be quiet and go back to bed. He then decided to slide out of my bed and go back into his room. There he entertained himself for a while until finally he could not stand it any longer and he ventured off to the computer and started playing. That is all fine and well except that he didn't get to bed last night until midnight. An 11 year old boy with 4 hours of sleep is not a good thing. We headed into the Brick House a little before 10 and I grabbed the calendar and took care of a few other things and headed home. I went about working on the schedule for the month of July and Jack went outside for a bit. He came in after a while and laid on the couch. I hoped he would take a nap and eventually he passed out. I let him sleep for a bit over 3 hours and carried on with the scheduling. I don't know that this is a sleep pattern I want him to get into. It is certainly not a sleep pattern I want to get into though I do love a good nap in the afternoon or evening now and again.
