Finding Joy
There is a young family that I home teach and I've worried about them now and again. I guess as a home teacher you should worry about your families. Anyway, I worried about them some. I've only been there home teacher for a few months now. Well, they blessed their baby last week and that was fantastic. This week I was visiting with Jake Whetman about our new teacher orientation that he is working on and I saw him standing in the foyer. When we were done conversing and had chatted a bit with a couple other brothers I went over to talk to this brother. We had a good visit. His wife was sitting in one of the comfy chairs with their newest little man and all was good. I noticed that this brother was holding the Ezra Taft Benson manual and I asked if he was going to be teaching today. He said he was, that he had just been called to be the week two instructor in Elders Quorum. I was filled with joy when I heard that not because it meant I would now be released from that calling, I loved teaching those lessons, but because it gave him an opportunity to be involved and to receive the blessings of that calling. Truly a wonderful thing. I was happy to attend Elders today and to participate in that lesson. He did a great job. I am excited for him and his family. When you see others have an opportunity to serve in callings that you know will be a blessing in their lives it is a wonderful thing. I found great joy in that and I look forward to learning from him.
