So my post from last night failed to post. I did it on my cell phone and that has happened a few times in the past. It is a real pain in the backside. Anyhow, here is a brief synopsis.
Jack and I went out for a hike again this evening. We headed up the canyon and I was going to take him up around the red mountain at the mouth of the canyon. He decided when we got there that he would rather go walk the Canyon trail that comes up into the mouth of the canyon. So we climbed back in the car and drove down to that. It is a paved path so the rugged hiking doesn't quite happen but we had a good time. I tried to convince him to make it a loop and come back down the dirt trail that ties into the road by the water towers on the south side of the canyon. He wasn't having any. No problem. We did find that they had signs identifying different trees and plant life. It appears to be the perfect hike for a new scout that is working on their Identifying 10 Plants requirement. Too bad Jack and I did that on our hike last week. We could have made that a lot easier. Not that it was hard and it certainly kept us looking around and observing our surroundings.
Anyway, fun night out walking around.
