The weather is turning warmer and that is very much welcome. It makes me want to get out and about, to enjoy all there is to enjoy in this beautiful area in which we live. I was thinking about a few things and decided that we need to improve our fitness a bit so that when we get back out to hiking around we don't die. I keep on the elliptical throughout the week and go anywhere from 3 to 6 miles a day on that but it isn't quite the same as being outside running. Natty doesn't get a ton of exercise and so I thought we would make a goal with a mile run and try to get it in 10 minutes. I know that for many that is not very impressive. For us, that is good. So we went out and ran tonight. Neither of us quite made the 10 minute mark, I came in at 10 minutes 36 seconds and Natty managed 11 minutes 31 seconds. It was a good run with a little walking now and again. The first half had me ahead of the pace but that last half was a little rougher. My lungs are feeling it for sure. Anyway we are going to go a couple times a week and work on that time.
We came home and did our scripture reading. When it was Natty's turn she read Mosiah 4:27 that says the following:
And see that all these things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength. And again, it is expedient that he should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize; therefore all things must be done in order.
As she read the part about running faster then he has strength we turned and looked at each other and laughed. It was pretty great. We got a kick out of it anyway.
