Technological Advance

We've moved ourselves ahead a bit on the technological front at The Little Brick House.  Perhaps front is not the right word and neither is ahead for that matter.  We are trying to catch up on some technology for the business by incorporating a Point Of Sale system.  It has been in the works for a while.  Dave has been programming it and yesterday we had the system operational.  It was a crazy day as we kept finding little bugs here or there and other fixes that needed to be made.  After today I believe we are at a point where we should be in good shape.  It has been a little slow over the last two days and that has actually been a bit of a blessing as we were able to have a little time to focus on the system.  Coming in and changing the way you have done things for months can throw you for a loop.  My goodness, it takes a bit of getting used to but I believe we are in much better shape for overall operations.  Goodness, the cooks have to be happy as the order is printed rather than my handwritten tickets.  There was more than once that people were struggling to interpret my writing.  Kind of like my hand written journals.  Those are fairly rough but this blogging journal has certainly corrected those challenges.  Anyhow, good to make a little progress, now to learn all the ins and outs of the program and make it the most effective tool it can be for us.
