Not That Tradition

It was our Stake Conference this weekend and as I mentioned in yesterdays post update that there was a lot of talk about family traditions.  The overall theme was on Family History and Temple work and I think the topic of traditions was given to help turn our minds to positive family traditions that we can establish or carry on that will lead us closer to the Lord.  The couple that spoke on this are the parents of my good friend Nica Clark.  They really did a great job.

On the topic of traditions we have some that we enjoy. One tradition that we will not be adding in our family is that of Corned Beef and Cabbage on St. Patrick's Day.  Oh my goodness I tried.  I found myself working away in the kitchen yet again today, trying to put together a meal that will be loved by all.  I saw corned beef in the store last week and decided we'd do it.  It didn't turn out as I had hoped.  The kids hated it.  Andy came up stairs when it was dinner time and demanded a bowl of MiniWheats because the dinner stunk.  Yep, I will not be doing this one again.  No, I think I need to get back to an old family tradition when I was a kid of having tacos on Sunday - Fontano style.  They are involved so it takes a lot of work to do on your own.  I am going to have to start training the kiddos so they can participate and then we need to just make it happen.  I am tired of trying all these big meals that do nothing but take up my day and then go to waste.  I didn't even enjoy a nap at all today and that is just really sad.

Okay, so there it is.  No Corned Beef and Cabbage here.
