Raspberry Jalapeno

One of the most popular things we make at The Little Brick House is our Raspberry Jalapeno Jam.  It is quite the popular sauce and is really quite delicious.  We had a lady in today wanting to buy some.  Unfortunately we didn't have any on the shelf.  This was her second time coming in to buy it and it wasn't there.  I told her we would make some tonight so I did.  Amy gave some help and we bottled up 4 batches worth.  Hopefully I did it right.  I've never jarred jam before and I ran into some problems with a few jars sealing correctly.  I went back through several of them and redid the sealing.  As best as I can tell they are all good now.  It really is quite delicious.

3 years ago I never would have thought that I would be working in the food industry in a family business, making sandwiches, pies, gluten free stuff (I didn't even know about gluten or gluten free anything), and bottling jam.  And now, well, I am doing all of those things and for the most part I'm having a lot of fun doing it.  The pay could certainly be better and one of these days we will get there.  We hope to be moving in the right direction and are looking forward to St. George opening here in the next week or so.  Ultimately it would be great if we could create a franchise opportunity.  Between these two stores we need to prove the business and then we can begin thinking about franchising.   That's a lot of Raspberry Jalapeno Jam.
