Eye Roll, I just did that

I constructed a new entertainment center or TV stand on Saturday.  Today I painted it.  I used a flat black and it actually looked really good.  I was pleased with how it turned out and only had one more thing I wanted to do, well two more.  I wanted to hit it with the sander and rough up a few edges and then throw a coat of polyurethane on it.  I decided to skip the edges and just threw a coat of the poly on it.  Bad move.  The sheen of the poly ruined the look and I am not well pleased with that decision.  I am hoping it will taper down a bit tonight as it dries but fear I may be re-doing a few things.  When I think about having to redo some things I throw out an eye roll.  I guess it makes me feel better.  I don't now why but we'll roll with it.  I was ready for that to be done but what can I do?  If I use it and don't like it I will spend my days looking at it and wishing I had done more, something different.  Well, we'll see how it looks in the morning.
