This Old Desk

I found an old desk in the basement at the brick house.  I must have walked past it a hundred times.  It was a surprise when I found it.  Anyway, I brought it home a couple months ago and never did anything with it.  My intention was to use it for a new TV stand when I get the basement back together.  I am beginning that process.  The old desk was a little too deep for what i wanted to do in the space so I made some adjustments.  I cut it in, well, about 2/3rds of the way.  I actually have a plan to make it into two TV stands, one obviously a little thinner than the other as it is only 1/3rd of the depth.  With the 2/3rds portion I ended up putting together a fairly nice piece of furniture.  It has some character as I used whatever i had in the garage to make it all work.  I think we have a good entertainment center now.  It needs some paint and what not but it should fit really nicely in the space.  That was a fun project.
