Got up this morning and went about doing some yard work. It had been about two weeks and I was in some desperate need of some relaxing mowing of the lawn. It was wonderful. Mowed, edged, weed whacked and hit is with the blower. I put on my headphones, listen to some tunes and just let go of everything else for a while. It is so nice. I should probably just start a lawn care business and enjoy the rest of my life though that may take away the pure pleasure that is mowing the lawn. I don't know that I want to give that up.
I spent much of the day working on a lesson plan for my SPED class. Homework. Not my favorite thing though I have now tried my hand at this lesson planning thing. It takes some effort and the form that SUU wants you to use is really quite a pain. I guess it is good to be thorough but it sure isn't easy. Hopefully it turned out okay. I think it is a good lesson though it is not on some common core lesson or anything like that. I did a history of flight lesson and made it up. I tried to incorporate some things in there that adapt the lesson for someone with autism. I used a lot of things I have learned about autism through Jack so this lesson may be better suited for Jack though it could be applicable to others. I don't really know, I was just trying to put something together that I thought would be effective. I guess we'll find out next week if it was a total bomb. Tough.
Well, not much else today. We had our ward party tonight and that was quite the enjoyable event. The Sunday School was given the assignment to serve the food and I think we did an exceptional job. The food was served anyway. 78 pounds of pulled pork gone. I may have been a little heavy on the portions I was serving up. It worked out perfect though, well, kind of. There were some late comers that didn't get any pork but there were some delicious salads and potatoes and coleslaw available. Fun times with the ward.
