Coming Back
There is a brother in the ward that was excommunicated from the church several years ago. He is at a point in his life after many years where he feels a desire to return to church. He has attended the entire block of meetings for the last 3 weeks. He keeps a fairly low profile and most members probably have no idea who he is. Anyhow, we have discussed him in our presidency meetings and have sought guidance on how we can assist him in his journey back. Today we had a good Elder's Quorum meeting and President Fawson lead a great discussion. It touched on a few things and I think the message was well received. I know I enjoyed it and grew from it. Anyhow, this returning brother had a few questions at the end of the meeting and President Fawson and I visited with him for a while. It was a good visit. In those moments we had a great conversation and it was great to feel of this mans spirit and his desire. I am sure that the road has not been an easy one for him. He talked about years of things that he regrets and wished he could change. Ahhh, therein is the miracle of the atonement, the blessing of a loving Savior. I am grateful for the Gospel.
