We had our first Christmas Open House tonight at the Little Brick House. It was good. I didn't see much of it as I ended up in the kitchen the whole time but that is what I do. Actually I got to spend a little time with a couple of friends and that was great. Everyone who came seemed to really enjoy it. We certainly kept busy enough with food and other things in the kitchen to where we didn't have a lot of extra time. The live entertainment was also quite good. Yes, Ash Creek put on a show. They actually sang a few songs I hadn't heard them do before, Christmas songs. It was great. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen was fabulous. Great arrangement and they really nailed it. Fun to see the old man doing his thing with Richard and Abby. Good times.
The kids came to the shop today with their mom. They seem to be having a great time and that is good. I am glad she was able to come and that they are spending some quality time together. That is one thing I don't really like about days off of school. Right now I don't have the luxury of not having to work and it makes those days tough. Next week we will have a few of those days. We will do our best to make them fun regardless.
I am grateful for this time of year. I am grateful for what Christmas represents. I am grateful that tonight we were able to share some fun with friends in the community. Certainly they have been a blessing for our business and it was good to have this opportunity to share with them. I am grateful for family and the fun we have together. I am also grateful for friends and the support and strength they are to me. Most of all I am grateful for the Savior and for his life and teachings. I am grateful for his love for me personally and for each of us.
